Qar-Minaret

Qar Minaret

This round, cylindrically shaped brick minaret has been constructed on an octagonal base and its stone foundation comprises of sand, grit, limestone, and ash.

The foundation is 4.8 m in height, and the birth of the minaret at its base and top are 5.5 m. and 4.7 m. respectively.

The thickness of its wall is 74 cm. and the total height of this structure is 21 m. The same was constructed in the year 555 AH.

Martha Peters’ house was registered in the list of Iran’s historical relics in 1974 by Ancient Relics Preservation Organization with the registration number of 990. In 1978 it was allocated to Farabi Art University and it was seriously renovated and rebuilt since then, and now it is the central building of the university.

Shahshahan Mausoleum

Shahshahan monument is located in the Shahshahan neighborhood, one of the large districts of Dardashti of Isfahan city. This monument was established upon the tomb of one of the 9th Hijri century mystics named “Shah Aladdin Muhammad” who was killed in 1446 by the order of Shahrokh Timurid, and there are beautiful molding inscriptions inside it.

The transom of the tomb has tile decorations. The dome of this tomb is rebuilt. Moreover, the beautiful Thuluth handwritings inside the Shahshahan tomb is done by the 9th Hijri century famous calligraphers of Isfahan.

This building is registered in 1948 with the registration number of 268.

Haftshooye Jameh Mosque

In northeast to Isfahan, in the route to Nain, this very beautiful and historical mosque is sunk in the heart of history in the village of Haftshouyeh.
The altar of Haftshouyeh central mosque is one of the most beautiful and complicated filers of Ilkhanate era where the Ayat Al-Korsi verse of Quran and the phrase “In the name of God, the merciful the compassionate ” is written in Thuluth manuscript.

Sheykh ol-Eslam’s House

Sheykh ol-Eslam’s House is a memorandum from Safavi and Qajar eras and has become one of the most elegant historical monuments in Isfahan. Primary construction of the building was done in Safavid era and it was a gift by Shah Abbas to his daughter, “Sarv Ghad Khanoum” and his son-in-law, “Mohaghegh Sabzevari”, one of the great scholars of Safavid era.

There used to be religious ceremonies such as mourning for Imam Hossein’s martyrdom in the mosque owned by Sheykh ol-Eslam Isfahan. This house is now under repair by Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization of Isfahan and is dedicated to traditional art workshops such as pottery, gold weaving and Chinese knot.

Saib Tabrizi Tomb

Mirza Mohammad Ali Saib Tabrizi (born in 1000 Hijri year/1592 in Tabriz and died in 1086 hijri year/1676 in Isfahan) was the greatest sonneteer of the eleventh Hijri century and the most famous poet of Safavid era.

Saib developed and perfected a poetry style that was called the Indian style several centuries afterwards. Saib Tabrizi had so many poems such that his Diwan is written up to two hundred verses.

There is a Masnavi by him called Ghandharnameh which is about the battles of Shah Abbas and Ghandhar Conquest.

He died in 1081-1087 Hijri year in Isfahan and was buried in Lanban Neighborhood. The tomb of Saib is in a garden in Isfahan, on a street that is named Saib after him.

Sheikh Bahai House

Third of Ordibehesht is registered in calendars in the name of Sheikh Bahai, the scientist whose skills in architecture can be seen in all the monuments remained from Safavid era and now his most vivid memorandum is his house in Isfahan and close to Jameh Mosque of the city which dates back to Seljuk period.
