Vafrajin Village
This village is near Hamadan, in the district of Maryanaj in an elevated region. It has moderate summers and cold winters. “Vafr” in Kurdish means snow. In this village is the tomb of Imamzadeh Mohsen, (a descendant of Imam Hassan A.S.) In this vicinity is the tomb of one of the disciples of the Prophet (PBUH). The structure of this Imamzadeh is unique from the architectural aspect. Handicrafts and Souvenirs
The most important handicraft of the province is earthenware and ceramics, and a place called ‘Lalejin’ (30 km. north of Hamadan) is famous for this handicraft. Besides earthenware and ceramics, there are the followings-carpet and ‘Kilim’ weaving (or a coarse carpet), clothing (mainly to do with the nomads), ‘jajeem’ (or a loosely woven woolen material), leather work, ‘geeveh’ (a local foot-ware), sweet-meats and grape syrup. Alexander’s Prison
Ziyaiyeh School with about 8 centuries of historical background is located beside Twelve Imams Shrine in Fahadan Neighborhood in Yazd. This monument was established in 631 Hijri year by the famous scholar, Zia al-Din Hossein Reza and was completed in 705 Hijri by his sons, Majd al-Din Hassan and Sharaf al-Din Ali. Vaqt Va Saat Square
This old square dates back to 8th century AH. Among the buildings around it worth mentioning are Seyed Roknedin School and an ancient water reservoir. Haj Kazem Rasoolian House

Dakhmeh
Zoroastrians Dakhme is also known as “Tower of Silence”. This Dakhme lies 15 kilometers southeast of Yazd around Safaiyeh District, on a low sedimentary mountain called “Dakme Mountain”. Dead bodies would be put in this tower in the past. In the distant past, the corpses would be placed on top the tower to be eaten by birds. Later, the bones would be dropped into a well. This would prevent soil pollution. Jameh Mosque of Fahraj
The oldest Iranian mosque is located in one of the ancient villages of Yazd. Jameh Mosque of Fahraj lies 30 kilometers from Yazd City and goes back to the first half of century 1 AH. It is the only mosque of Islamic World whose building has not changed so far since it was constructed.
