Norooz or Nowruz in the word means “New Day”. It is the new day that starts the year, traditionally the exact astronomical beginning of the Spring. Iranians take that as the beginning of the year. This exact second is called “Saal Tahvil”. No-Rooz with its’ uniquely Iranian characteristics has been celebrated for at least 3,000 years and is deeply rooted in the rituals and traditions of the Zoroastrian. Aryan tribes migrated into the Iranian plateau in the 2d millennium BC. There are over 1.5 million nomads in Iran today. Many of these tribes such as the Kurds, Bakhtiyaris (Bactrians), Lurs, Guilaks, and the Baluchs are descendants of the original invaders who came from Central Asia to settle in the Iranian Plateau. Most of the tribes of Central Iran are pure Aryan, while others such as the Arabs of Khuzestan and Khorasan, the Qashqai, the Turkmen (descendants of Mongols), Shahsevan and Afshar tribes of Azerbaijan had ancestors who passed through Iran. British Airways Resumes Direct Flights to Tehran
British Airways customers will be able to take off to Tehran this summer when the airline resumes direct flights to the Iranian capital on July 14. The route will launch as a six-per-week service before moving to daily flights from winter 2016, giving customers even more choice and flexibility between London and the Middle East. The service from Heathrow Terminal 5 will be operated by a four-class Boeing 777. Will The Zika Virus Hurt Tourism?
The first local transmission of the Zika virus in the Caribbean was reported in December after months of concern in Brazil, where the virus was first discovered in May. The disease has been linked to serious brain defects in children born to women infected with the virus, though the effect on nonpregnant people tends to be mild. Common symptoms of the disease can also include fever, rash, and red eyes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
